Gravitate to niche. Insulate with like-mindedness. We’re tracking that way, right? We find those pockets of things we like – true crime documentaries, A Song of Ice and Fire, Pete Buttigieg subreddits – we gorge ourselves on as much content as we can find, click ‘Add to List’ and then move on to the next ‘If you liked this, you’ll love this’ recommendation.

Some of us pause for a beat and say, “I wish I could do that.” Well what if you could? What if you could help create a world? More than just a comment in a thread. More than just five pages of fan fiction that lies dormant in a desk drawer. A real community of world builders.

If you made it out to this website, you've likely read Port - either a dear friend of mine who can’t not stop watching my descent into madness and self-delusion OR you saw something in my book that grabbed enough of your attention that your Google wanderings brought you to the end of this sentence.

If the former, go fuck yourself, but if the latter, welcome to The World of Port, a journal collaboration designed to expand and explore the world we found ourselves in at the conclusion of Port.

[You haven't read Port - shame on you but there's still time - https://www.amazon.com/Port-First-Tessa-Germaine-Joint-ebook/dp/B07TM3K78S/ ]

My goal is to post a series of short stories that traverse the nooks and crannies of this world. But I don’t want to do this alone. I want your take. I want to crowd source the themes and characters that will capture the imagination of the masses. I’ll combine my stories and your stories and publish a compilation with the working title Tales from Deck21 that will provide a lead-in to the conclusion of the trilogy.

I think you can do this, think we can do this. Take my hand. Come on, you can trust me. Let’s venture out together into The World of Port.
