012 - Movie Watching in 2021

More hot garbage in 2021. I rated more movies higher in 2021 than 2020 (twelve rated an 8 out of 10 or higher in 2021 versus nine in 2020). But the bottom end of the pile was more expansive and smellier - 20 movies rated a 5 or lower in 2021 versus only 10 movies with this low of a rating in 2020.

I saw seven movies in the theatre - even trying the 4DX experience with Shang Chi (never again). Others in theatres warranting the risk of Covid exposure were based on long-standing IP - Marvel, DC, Bond, Vin's Family and Japanese Monsters: The Suicide Squad (9), F9 (9), Spider-Man: No Way Home (7), Godzilla vs. Kong (6), Shang Chi (6), No Time to Die (5), and Eternals (2).

As those who have to deal with me on a daily basis can attest, I've grown less tolerant as I age. Some movies didn't even make the list as I couldn't make it through the first few minutes. I also had to look up the summaries of some of these while making this list to remember what they were about - memory also failing with age.

Anyway, good riddance to 2021. You can go jump off a high cliff with 2020. Except for you, Blood Red Sky, you my German darling, you will always have a place in my heart for surprising me and making me bury my head under the covers at times. Thank you.
